Dr. Tammy S. Wolicki
 Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education
 
 
Dr. Wolicki joined the Hempfield Area School District in 1992 as a Kindergarten and Title 1 Teacher at Maxwell Elementary.  After teaching fifth grade at Stanwood Elementary for three years, she became the Acting Principal of Stanwood Elementary.  She served as the assistant principal of Wendover Middle School and the elementary principal of East Hempfield Elementary School.  In 2005, she joined the Greensburg Salem School District as a middle school principal and Director of Curriculum for grades K-12.  Prior to returning to the Hempfield Area School District in 2014,  Dr. Wolicki served as the Director of Elementary Education for the Fox Chapel Area School District.  
 
The responsibilities of the Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education include, but are not limited to, Federal programs (Title 1, Title IIA), elementary staffing, curriculum, staff development, Induction, ESL (English as a Second Language), supervision and evaluation, comprehensive planning, gifted curriculum, RTII (Response to Instruction & Intervention), and coordinating the volunteer program.
 
Dr. Wolicki received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education and Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist from California University of Pennsylvania.  She earned her K-12 Principal Certification,  Doctorate in Administration and Leadership Studies, and Superintendent's Letter of Eligibility from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.  
 
Tammy lives in Latrobe with her husband, John, a graduate and retiree of the Hempfield Area School District.  Her daughter, Lauren Edwards, and step-son, Zachary Wolicki, are both graduates of the district.  She enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren Kennedy, Reagan, and Hunter.
