Maxwell Elementary Library
was relocated during the school's 2001 renovation. It was expanded to allow for
better access by students in grades K-5. The physical layout includes, two teaching areas, 16 Internet accessible student computer work
stations, a story area, an office and a work room.
Maxwell library houses over 10,000 books in addition to ebooks, playaways, periodicals, DVD s, and videocassettes. The library is an ACCESS PA and Power Library member.
The library is staffed by a librarian 3 days each week. Ms. Kline is a certified elementary teacher, with K-12 library science certification. Additionally, she has a master's degree in library and information science.
Volunteers assist in maintaining our library program. Volunteers organized by the PIE coordinator perform a variety of tasks. These tasks include but are not limited to clerical duties, bulletin board preparation, and assisting students. Library volunteer schedules are prepared by the PIE Library Coordinator.
