Birthday Invitations & Birthday Lunch

October 21, 2016

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Due to concerns expressed with the distribution of invitations among school children, a change is being made in the district’s practice.  Children are no longer permitted to distribute invitations in school.  Parents wishing to invite a child’s classmates to birthday parties and/or other social activities outside of school will need to use other means of communication, such as U.S. mail and/or social media.  We apologize for any inconvenience, but appreciate your support in assuring that our schools remain a positive environment for all children.

Dr. Tammy S. Wolicki

Assistant Superintendent for Elementary

Hempfield Area School District

Please know that any parent may come in and HAVE LUNCH with his/her child on his/her birthday.  You may also bring a special lunch into the school that day.  For example, parents have brought McDonald's, Chick-Fil-A, etc. for his/her child and parent.  Please do not bring food for other children as it causes heartache for others who do not get included.  We  hope to see your for BIRTHDAY LUNCHES!
