English as a Second Language

The Hempfield Area School District provides instruction for identified students whose dominant language is not English.  The ESL program is comprehensively designed to meet each student's individual needs in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade, based on an assessment of English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing. ESL students receive small group or individual instruction Students are language skills through a variety of interactive lessons that will ultimately be transferred into their regular classroom.
